Description
This workbook includes 63 worksheets of drawing vertical lines with seven different zoo animals! I provide instruction on each page, as well as clear visual cues to support your child or student’s success.
There are nine pages for each zoo animal. With the visual cues I provide, I progress your student from drawing short vertical lines with many visual cues > to short vertical with some visual cues > to short vertical lines with independence. From there we move to medium vertical lines with many visual cues > to medium vertical lines with some visual cues > to medium vertical lines with independence. Finally, we progress toward drawing long vertical lines with many visual cues > to long vertical lines with some visual cues > to long vertical lines with independence.
A note on Prewriting Skills:
- Drawing vertical lines is a “prewriting skill.” Prewriting skills are the foundational skills that a child must master before they’re able to form letters or numbers. No matter your student/child’s age, start where they are now and continue to move forward with each successful mastery. The typical developmental sequence of drawing/forming prewriting lines & shapes is as follows:
Vertical Lines by 2 years of age:
Horizontal Lines by 2.5 years of age
Circles by 3 years of age
Crosses by 3.5 years of age
Squares by 4 years of age
Diagonal Lines by 4.5 years of age
X’s by 5 years of age
