Description
This packet provides 10 pages of drawing vertical and horizontal lines of various lengths with leprechauns and shamrocks as clear visual cues (and the consistent theme) throughout!
Drawing vertical and horizontal lines are considered “prewriting skills.” Prewriting skills are the foundational skills that a child must master before they’re able to form letters or numbers. No matter your student/child’s age, start where they are now and continue to move forward with each successful mastery. The typical developmental sequence of drawing/forming prewriting lines & shapes is as follows:
- Vertical Lines by 2 years of age:
- Horizontal Lines by 2.5 years of age
- Circles by 3 years of age
- Crosses by 3.5 years of age
- Squares by 4 years of age
- Diagonal Lines by 4.5 years of age
- X’s by 5 years of age
