1) The WRITING PROMPT PACKET includes the following:
- A link to Moe’s video
- A summary of the facts shared within the featured animal’s video, to review with your students in a way they can understand
- Questions to ask your students to facilitate learning and meaningful conversation
- 16 types of writing paper with various levels of adaptations and visual cues so that students across ages, grades, and abilities can participate. Just print the pages your students need!
- Two types of brainstorming pages, depending on your students’ needs
- Pictures to color
- Links to learn how to draw a sloth >> My students LOVE learning how to draw new things. With step-by-step directions, you’re likely to be surprised at just how well they do! The last writing page purposefully includes a blank space for children to draw a picture before they write!
* Keep in mind: Students who are working on typing can still use fact summary and brainstorming pages with you, and then TYPE a 3-5 sentence paragraph based on the information they learned!

2) The CUTTING LINES PACKET includes a fact summary about sloths and 13 pages that reinforce parts of the content while addressing the skills of:
- Snipping
- Cutting short lines
- Cutting 4″ lines
- Cutting 6″ lines
- Cutting 8″ lines
Each page has varying amounts of visual cues, depending on your student’s needs. Hopefully they will progress to requiring fewer and fewer visual cues as they develop their cutting skills, as well as their overall visual motor skills.
TIP FOR USE >> Until further mastery, your student will have better success if pages are printed on cardstock. If you don’t have time to change out the paper or don’t have access to cardstock, no problem! When I don’t have the option for cardstock readily available, I keep a stapler at my therapy table and quickly staple the pages to pieces of construction paper. The construction paper is at least thicker than regular copy paper!

3) The CUTTING SQUARES AND CORNERS PACKET includes 11 pages that address cutting big, medium, and small squares, as well as cutting 90-degree angles/corners, outside of the context of a square. Pages have varying amount of visual cues, depending on your students’ needs.
TIPS FOR USE
- Until further mastery, your student will have better success if pages are printed on cardstock. If you don’t have time to change out the paper or don’t have access to cardstock, no problem! When I don’t have the option for cardstock readily available, I keep a stapler at my therapy table and quickly staple the pages to pieces of construction paper. The construction paper is at least thicker than regular copy paper!
- These activities can be easily graded down, by adding visual cues of your own such as bolding the dotted lines with highlighters or markers to increase the student’s visual attention and therefore precision, and/or to widen the margin of error.
- This packet can also be used with a writing utensil (colored pencil, crayon, etc), instead of with scissors! They have multiple uses for targeting visual motor skills.
