Description
This Writing Prompt Packet was created to support distance learning through engagement with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s Home Safari Program and to facilitate learning and meaningful conversation in families with children of a variety of ages!
It includes 17 types of writing paper, with various levels of adaptations and visual cues so that students across ages, grades, and abilities can participate, along with the following:
- A link to Sihil’s video: https://youtu.be/aafcPCw-Z0M
- A summary of the facts shared within her video, to review with your child in a way they can understand
- Questions to ask your child to facilitate learning and meaningful conversation
- Two types of brainstorming pages, depending on your child’s needs
- Pictures to color
- Links to learn how to draw an ocelot, for higher-level/aged kids
My students LOVE learning how to draw new things. With step-by-step directions, you’re likely to be surprised at just how well they do! Page 20 purposefully includes a blank space for children to draw a picture before they write!
Keep in mind: Students who are working on typing can still use fact summary and brainstorming pages with you, and then TYPE a 3-5 sentence paragraph based on the information they learned!
Please, please, please… let me know what you think! I’d love feedback. Also, share pictures of your children’s learning-in-action with the hashtag #thecolorfullyenthusedOT *
* DO NOT SHARE COPIES OR ATTACHMENTS OF THESE WORKSHEETS WITH FRIENDS, FAMILY, OR COWORKERS *
Thank you and enjoy!
