How Can I Help?
ColorfullyEnthused*LLC is a pediatric private practice that provides quality and individualized occupational therapy services with enthusiasm and care, to develop the skills kids need for school and life. We provide comprehensive evaluations, consultation, and treatment sessions to support your child’s performance and independence in the activities of their everyday life by:
- fostering independence in daily living skills such as dressing, grooming and feeding
- improving fine motor, eye-hand coordination, and visual perception such as in the contexts of handwriting, typing, drawing, and coloring
- developing self-regulation skills to support sensory processing differences, behavior, attention, organization, stress management, rest and sleep
- cultivating executive functioning skills, including planning and work habits
- facilitating community engagement, leisure exploration, and social skills
I specialize in working with children between the ages of 5 and 16 years old and have experience in treating diagnoses of ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Apraxia/Dyspraxia, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Cerebral Palsy, Depression, Developmental Delays, Down Syndrome, Dysgraphia, Development Coordination Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and Sensory Processing Differences.
However, your child does not need a doctor’s referral or a diagnosis to receive or benefit from occupational therapy services.
As an occupational therapist, I use meaningful activities of everyday life to support clients’ performance and participation within the following areas of occupation: Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), Education/School, Work, Rest & Sleep, Play, Leisure, and Social Participation.
Through task analysis, I identify where and/or why the breakdown in performance is occurring and then provide intervention to either:
- 1) improve the identified skill deficit (visual or fine motor coordination, gross motor coordination, visual tracking/scanning/perception, body awareness, attention/focus, executive functioning, motor planning, energy/arousal levels, sensory processing, etc) or
- 2) modify/adapt the task or the environment to support successful performance
Evaluation Process
The initial evaluation is an important first step of the therapy process. It provides insight into the strengths and weaknesses of your child, and allows me to gain a fuller picture of who your child is and how they function in the world. It also allows us to gather the information needed to make sound decisions in determining priorities and setting the goals that we aim to attain in our time together.
Our evaluation process includes a comprehensive medical and educational history, developmental review, standardized testing or criterion-referenced assessments of your child’s performance skills and abilities as needed, informal observations of function, and a parent interview or questionnaire that allows me insight into your child’s daily life as well as your priorities of concern. For clients with established IEPs and/or medical records I do request copies of that information to help me better understand your child as a whole.
At the end of the evaluation process, you will be provided a written report of findings, implications, and a recommended plan of care.
Consultation Services
Whether or not you choose to move forward in starting therapy for your child, I am available to provide consultative services such as reviewing your child’s Individualized Education Plan and making recommendations to improve independence and success at home and school. Please contact me for more details.
Treatment Sessions
Depending on your family’s schedule and your child’s work tolerance, I provide 30-minute, 45-minute, and 1-hour therapy sessions.
Progress Monitoring
What is therapy without progress? The most important aspect of the therapy is ensuring that the quality of the care provided is reflected in progress made! Throughout therapy sessions, data will be collected, progress will be continually reviewed, and adjustments will be made accordingly. Treatment sessions occur in 8-12 week increments. At the end of a set of 8-12 sessions, the initially established plan of care is reviewed to validate that progress is being made and to identify changes that may need to occur.
Accepted Forms of Payment
At this time, I do not bill insurances; I am happy to provide a Superbill at the end of each session that you can submit to your health insurance to seek reimbursement. Services are paid privately by credit card, Venmo, or check. I also accept payment from Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and hope to complete the process of becoming an independent provider with the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities (DCBDD) by May of 2022.
